you know i really like it, i know i'll always be here, you know it makes my heart beat, you know i'm happy up here
one of the things that made the sea of bees concert i went to so good was that it looked like the band were really happy to be there. minutes before they went on stage they were mingling in the crowd, laughing, joking and saying hello. then when they took to the stage their enthusiasm and joy at playing to us was both obvious and infectious. i've been to plenty of gigs where the artist didn't look happy to be there - which i can completely understand. it is a job after all, and if you're repeating the same sort of thing night after night then it must be almost impossible to maintain a high level of energy and enjoyment. i guess that makes it all the better when a performer says it's great to be in london and you know they really mean it.
