i'm looking to the sky to save me, looking for a sign of life, looking for something help me burn out bright
this plant reminds me of the macguffin in the movie wall-e - which in turn makes me happy that i'm able to use the word macguffin in a sentence. it caught my eye as the sunlight caught the green leaves inside of a dark, damp cave in venezuela. in fact i think it's the same plant which you can just make out in the centre of this photo. while that image makes the cave look fairly bright and green it's only because i was looking out towards the sunlight and i combined 8 different photos to create that hdr photo, it was a different story standing at the top looking inside. i also remember it was quite difficult to find the rocks to stabilise my tripod to get a long enough exposure to capture the plant whilst at the same time avoiding the droplets of water that were falling from the stalactites above. that's about all i remember - which is quite a lot considering that i took this shot six months ago
