dagbladet

about a year and a half ago a friend put me in touch with a norwegian journalist that he knew. she was writing an article about death road and wanted to look at some of the photos i had taken with view to adding them to her text to go in a travel magazine. things went back and forth, i sent over some images and then it was all put on ice as the travel magazine had already published a similar article. fast forward to earlier this year and she got back in touch with some unexpected good news - the newspaper she was now working for wanted to put her article in their travel supplement, complete with my photos. there were a few more delays ahead, including a worrying moment when the norwegians had 'lost' my high-res photos and needed them resending. fortunately i was obsessively paranoid about backing up whilst i was in south america so i had the originals on my computer. when i found them i realised that i really didn't like the way that i had processed them. i guess my eye and tastes had evolved in the intervening 12 months and i had gone off the yellowy-hdr mood i was in back then. so i started from scratch, as well as including images i had taken from my 2009 trip, and sent over a new batch. earlier in the month they were finally published and a few days ago i received the printed copy in the post. i don't mind admitting it feels pretty cool. there's also an online version - although if you don't read norwegian (i don't) or have a danish housemate who can interpret (i do) then you may need some help from google translate.
