the city has sex with itself, i suppose, as the concrete collides while the scenery grows, and the lonely once bandaged lay fully exposed having undressed their wounds for each other
this time last month i flew to barcelona to spend a few days in spain. i went to spain for the first time back in june and spent some time in alicante and valencia. i wanted to go to barcelona as well but i ran out of time so i told myself that i should save visiting the city for when i can see it properly. that was the good intention behind my october viaje, unfortunately my body wasn't on the same wavelength and succumbed to a cold whilst i was flying over france. so i landed in the warm climes of catalunya with a fuzzy head and no energy to move. i spent the middle section of my trip in a few towns in the north of the region, where i felt a little better, but all my time in barcelona was spent under a poorly cloud. this isn't uncommon for me, when i was in south america i wrote about my capital city curse which led me to fall ill whenever i went to a major city. that was an inconvenience when travelling, but it's more annoying when you only have a few days before you have to fly home. all that means that i'll surely return to the city at some point in the future, you know, so i can see it properly.
