sail away with me honey, i put my heart in your hands, sail away with me honey now, now, now. sail away with me, what will be will be, i want to hold you now, now, now
i never had the opportunity to go to the notting hill carnival before, so as last year was my first summer in london i was looking forward to rectifying that. the plan was to go on the sunday with my housemate and a couple of her danish friends. we started drinking before leaving the house, and we were all pretty merry by the time we made it to the bus stop to head to notting hill. however it turned out that one of the danes was considerably more intoxicated than the rest of us when she suddenly collapsed and went out cold. it didn't seem right to leave her on the pavement while the rest of us partied at the carnival, so we did the selfless thing, which was carry her back to the house and then keep on drinking. as a result i only managed to catch an hour or so of the festivities the following day, so i'm hoping for a more successful return in my second summer in london.
