when them trees drop leaves your feet collect their memories, i guess all us snakes find our tails pretty damn tasty
i went on a little holiday to the south of france at the end of last month and i took a day trip to saint emilion - a picturesque medieval village in the wine region of bordeaux. i never used to get that excited about visiting medieval places, which i think stems from the fact that we have a few of them in britain. if i leave my country i prefer to see new and different things. despite these reservations i thought saint emilion was awesome, and the primary reason for that was because i had just finished reading the first game of thrones book. i've seen most of the tv adaptations but was always put off from reading the original source material as the books are so big. i finally relented and i became instantly enthralled when i started reading. so much so that i managed to finish the first book in less than a month - which is a big achievement for slow reader like myself. of course i knew what would happen from watching it on tv, but i really liked the writing style and the way the words painted pictures in my head. so it was perfect timing to be walking around cobbled streets lined ancient castles and churches. also they had lots of wine there - so that was cool too.
