i've already posted a couple of pictures of these kids who i met on the santa cruz trek in peru. we had just taken a little break on the first day of the four day hike when these children arrived in a small village and started asking for sweets. this was a full 13 days before halloween, and they couldn't even be bothered to dress up for trick or treating... they were lucky if i didn't unwrap a snickers bar and eat in right in front of their malnourished faces. actually i forget now if i did yield to their request or simply clicked away with an unsympathetic camera - looking back at their faces i really hope it was the former.
