all the umbrellas in london couldn't stop this rain, and all the dope in new york couldn't kill this pain, and all the money in tokyo couldn't make me stay
this is another photo from the photowalk i took around london on saturday. there were a few reasons why i enjoyed walking around with fellow photographers. firstly i was able to speak in geeky/technical talk, safe in the knowledge that everyone else spoke the same language. also it was socially acceptable to stop randomly for a few minutes to take a picture without fear that you were pissing off the people you were with. but perhaps the best part for me was that it wasn't just one 'eye' looking out for cool shots - so you were less likely to miss good photo opportunities. these umbrellas are a perfect example of that. they were tucked away in a corner of borough market, which is a busy and popular place with lots of distractions for your eyes. if i was by myself i would have absolutely missed them, but fortunately for me the guy i was walking with had his eyes more open.

i wanted a clean look to the image without any distractions of poles and buildings, so i freely admit that i went a bit crazy with the clone tool. here's the original
