so this is the new year, and i don't feel any different, the clanking of crystal, explosions off in the distance
i was unprecedentedly organised for new year's eve a few days ago by purchasing tickets for the fireworks in london. i'd never seen them before, and as this was the first year they started charging an entrance fee, so i had no idea what to expect. if i had done my research i would have known that most of the fireworks are set off from the london eye, therefore standing near there or the houses of parliament would have given an optimal view. i rather naively assumed i could just turn up, and stroll along the riverbank until i found a good spot. i learnt pretty quickly that 100,000 people don't make it easy for you to stroll. as a result my view of the london landmarks weren't the best, but that didn't affect my view of the exploding lights in the sky, which were very impressive
