two headed boy, put on sunday shoes, and dance round the room to accordion keys, with the needle that sings in your heart, catching signals that sound in the dark
the friday before last i went to a wedding between an irish and venezuelan friend. i debated whether or not to bring my camera, i thought it would be annoying to carry around all day, but at the same time it's always a good occasion for pictures. a friend drove me there so in the end i figured i could always leave it in her car if it became a burden. it turned out to be a prescient decision as seconds before the ceremony was about to begin the groom asked if i could step in and take pictures as their photographer hadn't shown up. i jumped to the front and began shooting as everything got underway and then at the crucial moment when the rings were going on the fingers the official photographer rushed in, unzipped his camera and started furiously snapping away. i was glad that he did show up as i felt a little out of my comfort zone, there's a big difference taking the kind of pictures i do and capturing a specific event like a wedding. even more so when you don't really have the right equipment or preparation for it. i feel way more comfortable balancing my camera on a wall and capturing this kind of scene which was opposite the wedding venue.
