laura marling
this was the second support act for daniel johnston who i saw last week, laura marling. i was looking forward to seeing her as her album had been on a few times in our office. it's quite chilled out folky music which relies just on her guitar and her voice - but what a voice. it's even better when you discover she's only nineteen. such is her music, there was a danger that her performance could get a little too serious and heavy. this was dispelled early on when, upon noticing something in the front row, she began giggling while she was singing, before stopping altogether and asking if the people at the front were ok. she then glibly said that she was near the end of that song anyway. unfortunately she didn't offer herself, or make the audience member, share the joke with the rest of the class.
