i took this fairly close to the top of el camino de la muerte, or as the gringos call it, death road. it's at such a height that you are literally up in the clouds, which makes for a strange experience. in some ways it's a little unnerving when you bombing it down the side of a mountain on bike on a narrow track and you just see a blank abyss in front of you. in another way it's a hell of a lot less unnerving than see a sheer drop of thousands of metres. either way, it acted as good build up to when i got to the necessary altitude and out of the cloud forest - when i finally saw the view it blew me away... you'll just have to use your imagination in this photo.
