i hate being alone

i hate being alone
towards the end of my travels, and particularly in the final two countries i visited, i started to become more and more homesick. this was closely connected to the fact that the countries in question, guyana and suriname, are among the least touristy destinations on the continent. this meant i met fewer fellow travellers which in turn made me miss my friends and family even more. now that i'm back home i've been trying to catch up with who i can in the last couple of weeks, mostly faces i haven't seen in around two years. while i've met many, many amazing people on the road, it is nice to be able to speak in slang, talk about old times and not receive strange looks when i make
a room for romeo brass references.
