i haven't been to a gig in a while but i have 4 coming up this month starting with silverchair who i saw on sunday. they were playing at manchester ritz which i haven't been to before. as far as i know it's mainly a nightclub but i think that it's recently started taking over some gigs from manchester academy while that venue has a refurb. anyways the result was that it was a bit small and dingy inside (there was a big sign saying 'lovetrain' above the stage) but this meant that i could get pretty close to the stage. they played a lot of songs from their new album which i'm not overly enamoured by but sounded a lot better live.

i did a bit of cloning here to get rid of peoples heads in front (if only that were be possible at real gigs, you'd have a perfect view) so i've included the original
