a couple of weeks ago i went to the bridgewater hall in manchester to see eels perform. i'm a really big fan, it was the first time i'd been to see them and i was really looking forward to seeing them. as it turned out i ended up being a bit disappointed. i'm not really sure why, i think i was hoping they'd play more of my favourite songs, and i wasn't in the best mood when i went so i think that affected it. nevertheless i did enjoy quite a few of the songs, in particular fucker which i think was the first song that i heard that made me think this band was really special. a cool moment of the gig came when they were playing flyswatter with e on piano and the chet on drums. halfway through e got up and seamlessly swapped with the chet on the drums. the chet went onto the piano and then a little while later they swapped back. a neat trick if you can do it.
