one of the perks of going on holiday, except for the holiday itself, is stocking up on cheap duty free. i have a particular penchant for jack daniels so i always try and get a fancy bottle of gentleman jack or silver select or whatever looks like a limited edition. i remember i went over to andorra a few years ago on a skiing holiday and must have come back with almost 10litres of spirits for under 100 euros. of course this was before the limit on flying with liquids. when i was flying out of johannesburg i found quite a few decent bargains. however i was told that as i wasn't flying direct to uk, but via paris, i wouldn't be able to take them as they were over my allowance of 100ml per item. i wasn't sure if this was completely correct as they sell them in sealed bags, but decided it wasn't worth the risk so left it hoping to pick up something in paris. this shot was then taken a couple of minutes after leaving a french duty free that was a quarter of the size and twice as expensive. needless to say i was empty handed... and sober.
