hey look at this, finally i've managed to do an hdr that looks like an hdr. i've tried a handful of times in the past and none of them really had that hdr look. i think that it was a combination of using a different camera and different software (photomatix pro) that did it. it's a combination of three photos taken at 1/20, 1/100 and 1/400. i've included the middle of those as my original image.
