when we weren't squeezing ourselves into supertight wetsuits and jumping into clear blue waters, we spent most of the rest of the holiday in this hotel bar. the beverage of choice was sakara - the main egyptian lager - which was particularly refreshing in the evening heat. i made the error of deviating from this system when i tried my luck with a white russian. it was literally just a really expensive glass of milk, no taste of vodka or tia maria (they didn't have kahlua) at all. i half expected to be given a cookie and tucked into bed. still, we didn't care much about the cost as we just put all the drinks on the room. that was definitely the way to go as you weren't constantly going to your wallet and feeling it get lighter and lighter. the inevitable downside with this system is when you have to pay the tab at the end of the week. yeah, that hurt a little.
