one of the first things i did after i got to new york was go up the empire state building. actually, the first thing i did was have a $10 burger, but then the empire state building. it was a bright and clear day so i thought i'd take advantage of the good weather and visibility. in addition to seeing the statue of liberty, it was the most touristy thing i did, and it felt it as everyone was pressed up against the barriers trying to get the same picture. i could have acted quite cynical about it, but as someone who loves taking photographs, the view is spectacular. it doesn't matter that literally millions of people have taken the exact same shot, i took this one, which is all that matters to me...
