i was debating whether or not to take my big camera to the skunk anansie gig i went to a few weeks ago. i had been on a successful roll recently, snapping the slr at the last four gigs i attended. for whatever reason, i decided not to on this occasion and just took my little compact. from a photographic point of view it was a terrible decision, skin was jumping all over the place and there were numerous photo opportunities that would have benefited from a decent camera. as a result the pictures i did manage to get weren't of that high a quality. having said all that, putting my little camera in my pocket instead of my big one ended up most providential as i was pulled out of line 'randomly' and searched as i entered the venue. when i was asked to empty my pockets, i was relieved to hear a "that's ok" upon producing my camera, instead of the almost certainly negative response my slr would have illicited. i did get me worried though, what if they know who i am and that i regularly take my big camera to concerts. what if they're watching me and reading this now... nah, i'm just being paranoid, i'm sure it was just some old fashioned profiling.
