so this year i've been to 12 gigs in 12 months. i think that's a new record for me. they were all bands that i was into before seeing them, and few that i'd been waiting ages for the opportunity to go to. it's difficult to pick a favourite as they were all impressive in different ways, so i'm not going to. instead i've put together 12 unseen photos from each of the gigs and stuck them up here. well, that's almost true. in fact there were two gigs i went to where i forgot to bring my camera, they were the presidents of the united states of america and cherry ghost. i was particularly bummed out about forgetting to take it to the cherry ghost gig as it was in a tiny venue in manchester called the deaf institute, the setting looked really cool and i was dead close to the stage. to make it worse i had brought my camera, but left it in the car which was parked just that bit too far away. so, in place of these missing performers i've put up two support acts, the voluntary butler scheme who was supporting jason lytle, and laura marling who was supporting daniel johnston. this is the full list of those above:

- seasick steve
- the voluntary butler scheme
- jason lytle
- pearl jam
- brendan benson
- laura marling
- daniel johnston
- alberta cross
- the flaming lips
- skunk anansie
- the mars volta
- modest mouse

you can see larger images of each of these, instead of the original, in this flashy link

oh yeah, and happy new decade
