this is a kingfisher that i was lucky to catch fishing for... er... fish on the river in amakhala. apparently their eyes have evolved so that the lens is egg shaped meaning they can see as well as any other bird in the air, but they also have good underwater vision, enabling them to spot their prey and dive in and get it. ain't wikipedia great!
